Below are the most commonly asked questions: |
-
-
-
-
- How
often can I submit?
-
- How often you submit your
project, depends on "where" you're submitting
to.
-
- The correct scheduling format
is outlined below:
- Search Engines - Monthly
- FFA's - Daily
- Classified Ads - Every 2 weeks
- Online Malls - Once Only!
- Award Sites - Once Only!
- Anything other than a schedule
like this, could hurt you, NOT help you.
-
- Search Engine Blaster is very
powerful software, and if not used responsibly,
- it could hurt your business.
We do not want to hurt anyone. Our goal is to
- allow you to set up automated
projects that target each area of online submissions on a scheduled
basis.
-
- So it makes a lot of sense
to create a project, define a target category, and schedule auto-re
submission for that particular engine base.
-
- As some members do not know
how to control and schedule the submissions appropriately, we
MUST limit each project to a specific engine database. This is
why you can only select ONE category to submit to for any given
project.
-
- Submitting to Search Engines
on a daily or weekly basis is considered "spamming".
If you are caught spamming, your listing could be removed by
the Search Engine. This defeats the whole purpose of Search Engine
submissions. Please be sure to submit responsibly!

-
-
- What
do I submit and where?
- Follow the submission chart,
assign one project to a specific task. Follow the steps in the
submission guide for
more help on this topic.

-
- Can
I submit affiliate links?
- Yes, but it can vary depending
on the type of affiliate program you are promoting. If the program
you are promoting has issued you your own URL in this format:
- then you can submit the URL
to all engines.
-
- If you have an affiliate link
like this:
-
- Then you should NOT submit
that type of URL to search engines, many search engines will
not recognize a URL with question marks "?" in the
URL, in this case, only submit to FFA's , Classified Ad Sites,
and Online Malls.
-

-
- Can
I submit Self-Replicated Pages?
- If the program you are promoting
has issued you your own URL in this format: http://www.somesite.com/yourname/
- then you can submit the URL
to all engines.
-
- -top-
-
- Can
I submit for others?
- Yes, but you are limited to
the amount of available projects in your account. If you want
to keep editing a project, over and over, changing the site information,
you can do this.
-
-
- -top-
-
-
-
- I'm
not listed, what gives?
- Getting listed in the search
engines could take anywhere from 1 day, to several months. This
process is determined by each engine on an individual basis.
Some search engines will accept your submission and index your
site within a day or two, others may take up to several
months before listing your site. This process will vary from
engine to engine.
-
- Another point to consider
is, how are you searching to see if in deed you are listed
or not?
- The method, or search term
you search the engines for may or may not return favorable results
depending on what it is your searching for.
-
- If you're using the Search
Engine Blaster Ranking tool to see if you're listed, searching
on one term could return results, where searching on another
may show you as not listed at all. It's all based on the query
you input.
- So, best advise is try searching
on different terms, keywords, and above all, visit several search
engines directly and see if you can bring up results this way.
-
- I'm
not in the top 50, how come?
- Getting into the top 50 search
results is every webmasters dream. It is not easy to do. There
are firms that specialize in getting you a top 50 listing. Typically,
these services are quite expensive. These folks do a fine job of positioning,
but it's not cheap. Also, see above question, I'm
not listed, what gives?

- FFA & Classified
Ad Questions
|
-
- I
Can't find my ads!
- Posting ads, then going to
hunt them down can be a chore, especially for newbies. Finding
your ads can be tough sometimes. Understand that ads on FFA sites
typically last anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. While
ads on Classified Ad sites can range from 7 days - 90 days, so
depending on the site you submitted to, this will vary. Try visiting
a site where you posted to, some of them have "search"
features and if you enter in a few keywords from your ad--you'll
find it. Others break them down into categories, locate the category
you posted to and start scrolling down. To speed this process
you can use a feature in your browser called "find".
Go to the page where your link has been posted and from your
browser click on EDIT-->FIND. There is no science to finding
ads, and most people will see your ad by looking at FFA pages,
or scanning thru the free classified ad sites.

do I stop all the confirmation emails?

-
-
- Where
do I enter the Classified Ad Information?
- In the "description field"
in your project properties. To get there, Click on projects,
select the project name, then click EDIT to get to the edit screen.
The TITLE is your headline, and the DESCRIPTION is your ad copy..
keep it short and sweet, know one likes to read LONG ads! Just
write enough copy to interest the reader to click to your site
for more.
-
- How
to submit to FFA's and Classified Ad Sites?
-
- It's always best to create
a seperate project that submits only to these types of
sites. This is not only true for FFA's and Classified Ad Sites,
but for search engine submissions as well. Understanding where
the software takes your information during the submission process
is key. Here's how it works:
-
- 1. Start off by creating a
project. In the edit screen area, the 3 pieces of infromation
that are vital are:
-
- Site Title, Site URL,
and Description
-
- Let's break them down; the
Site title and Description are the two fields where
your punchy headline should be written. These desciptive fileds
are what is posted to the FFA and Classified Ad sites. These
two fields can be identical, but should be short and catchy in
length. Many FFA sites have restrictions on how many characters
can be in your Title/Description. It's best to keep them short--no
more than 65 characters.
-
- The URL field is what
will become the hyperlink on the FFA / Classified ad Site. So
be sure this URL goes to the exact page you are advertising.
-
- Here's an example:
-
- Site Title:
- Site URL:
- Description:
-
- It is not necessary to enter
in HTML commands in any of these fields, as most FFA and Classified
sites block HTML posts, and only accept plain text in these fields.
-
-
- Do I have to Confirm my
email address?
-
- We do not submit to
sites that require an email confirmation, we have already confirmed
an email address with the one's we do submit to. If you prefer,
you can spend the time confirming your email address, but we've
already done it for you.
-
My URL got chopped!
-
- You may notice on some of
the sites you visit that the URL you thought you posted, did
not post YOUR url!
- It got chopped off! How can
this be?
-
- Some engines wont index affiliate
URL's, some will. Some sites will in fact delete everything after
the "?" or "chop" a URL that they consider
too long. This depends on the rules of the site that your link
is posted to.
-
- It can vary from site to site,
and also depends on the type of "link" you are promoting.
If the program you are promoting has issued you an affiliate
URL in this format:
then it probably wont chop off
anything, and you wont have a problem.
-
- If you have an affiliate link
like this:
-
- Then some of the engines
may not recognize a URL with question marks "?" in
the URL. You might consider geting a URL forwarding service. Or better yet, get
your own domain name , then put your affiliate links on
your own site.

-
-
- How
come I can't select more than one category at a time?
- The objective is to allow
you to set up automated projects that target a *specific* area
of online promotion on a scheduled basis.
-
- Search Engine Blaster is very
powerful software, and if not used responsibly,
- it could hurt your business.
We do not want to hurt anyone. Our goal is to
- allow you to set up automated
projects that target each area of online submissions on a scheduled
basis.
-
- So it makes a lot of sense
to create a project, define a target category, and schedule auto-re
submission for that particular engine base.
-
-
- The principle is this:
-
- Create a project file based
on what kind of promotion you would like to achieve. Search Engine
Blaster can submit a single URL, or an entire domain. So you
will need to decide what kind of promotion you would like to
target.
-
- When you are setting up your
submission, you should define a target category by selecting
a specific area to target within the database selection area,
and schedule that project to auto-re submit for that particular
engine base.
-
- The correct scheduling format
is outlined below:
- Search Engines - Monthly
- FFA's - Daily
- Classified Ads - Every 2 weeks
- Online Malls - Once Only!
- Award Sites - Once Only!
- You would not want to select
ALL the categories in the engine list at once, and schedule daily
submission to the whole database.
-
- By following the schedule
above, you can assign specific URL's to be submitted to specific
engines.
-
- For example:
Set up one project to submit your domain to all the search engines,
then schedule that project to be submitted once a month.
-
- To submit daily to FFA's daily,
set up another project with just a single URL, and select the
FFA's in the engine database. Then schedule that project to submit
daily.
-
- We are not here to cheat you
out of a project file. But we must set limitations so nobody
gets into trouble by over submitting to many times to the wrong
category.
-
- How
do I create more projects?
- Once you use all your available
projects, you can upgrade your account to purchase more. The
upgrade feature is being created now and will be online shortly.
-
- Can
I EDIT my projects?
- To get there, Click on projects,
select the project name, then click EDIT to get to the edit screen.
You can change any fields you'd like. Be sure to SCROLL DOWN
and click on NEXT after making changes, this will SAVE your changes.

- Submission Report
Questions
|
-
- My
Submission Report Results are Poor, what gives?
-
- This can happen for a number
of reasons. Unlike other submission services, SEB actually shows
you which submissions were successful, and which we're not. This
is a feature you will RARELY see from any other company. Other
firms may tell you they are submitting, but are they REALLY?
Do they proove it with a report?
-
- Here's some reasons why a
submission will fail:
-
- 1) You may have already submitted to that site,
and additional submissions are not necessary at this time. Our
report may report it as a failed submission, but in fact, there
was simply no need to submit to that site again at this time.
-
- 2) Some sites limit the number of
submissions you can make within 24 hours, you may have exceeded
this limit on that particular engine.
-
- 3) Many FFA and Classified Ad sites do not allow
multiple submissions for the same URL on the same day. That means
if you are promoting somthing like:
-
- any other affiliate from secrets2success
who is submitting to the FFA's with "http://www.secrets2success.com" in their URL may not be accepted.
-
- 4) Some search engines do not index affiliate links
- (example: http://www.searchengineblaster.com/cgi-bin/a/clickthru.cgi?id=0000) this type of URL would NOT be indexed
by some search engines, but this url
-
- (example: http://www.searchengineblaster.com) would
be allowed.
- In this case, it is best
to generate traffic by posting to FFA and Free Classified Ad
sites.
-
- 5) If you have chosen to submit to International
search engines, most of these types of engines require that you
truly be an International site, that is, if you want to be listed
at "Excite-France" (http://www.excite.fr) , then your
domain must be a french domain and end in ".fr" , If
you're submitting a ".com" site to a french directory,
the submission will fail.
-
- 6) The site you are submitting to, that server
could be temporarily down.
-
- 5) The return page or "thank you for submitting
page" could have moved on that specific server. Your site
may have been submitted, but by the "thank you page"
being moved or renamed, our report will show that it was not
submitted-even thou it was.
-
- 7) There are over 600,000 data files in our submission
database, the data contained in these files changes on a daily
basis. We update the data every other day--this is a full time
job and some engine data may need to be updated.
-
-
- Where's my submission Report?
-
- You can view a full report
of your last submission at any time, by logging in, and clicking
on the PROJECTS link. Then you will see a DATE next to each project.
If you click on the DATE it will bring up a report of the last
submission. There are hyperlinks to most of the engines on this
report.
